The Winner of the Eventful Monaco GP is Antonelli: Verstappen and Leclerc Did Not Finish the Race
At the 2026 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix, Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli reached victory. The young Italian preserved his position from pole all through the race and added another victory to those of his season. The race was the scene of sensational events: Max Verstappen retired from the race in the very first lap due to an engine problem, Charles Leclerc could not finish his home race after hitting the barriers at the exit of Rascasse, and last year's Monaco winner Lando Norris also had to retire from the race. On the second step of the podium was Lewis Hamilton with Ferrari, and on the third step was 21-year-old Isack Hadjar; this result became the first Formula 1 podium of Hadjar's career.
