Besiktas Qualifies for the Europa League!

Turkish representative Besiktas hosted Lithuanian side Zalgiris in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League play-off round. Having defeated their opponent with a very clear and distinct score of 3-0 away in the first leg of the tie, the Black and Whites managed to achieve their main goal despite leaving the pitch with a 1-0 defeat in the rematch. Thanks to this massive score advantage they obtained earlier, our representative officially inscribed its name into the league stage of the UEFA Europa League, which will be played with a brand new format.

Throughout the match, Besiktas displayed a more controlled and relaxed game with the comfort brought by the three-goal victory in the first match. They prioritized defensive security in the moments when their opponent tried to take risks and put pressure on them. The only goal of the struggle came from Zalgiris' attacking player Renan Oliveira in the 64th minute. After conceding this goal, Besiktas did not break away from their game discipline, kept the ball more to slow down the opponent, and did not give the Lithuanian representative any more opportunities to hope, keeping their goal closed in the remaining minutes. Although this defeat did not prevent them from advancing, it served as an important test and warning for the technical staff to see the team's shortcomings. The black-and-white community, continuing its path in the European arena with confident steps, is now eagerly awaiting its opponents in the league stage. The fans, who filled the stands to support their team, celebrated the advancement while the technical director prepares to address the team's offensive shortcomings. Besiktas will continue its preparations without slowing down to display a much more assertive performance in the league stage with its experience in Europe.
