A new name has been added to the summer transfer window's midfield files. According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea are closely monitoring Stuttgart's German midfielder Angelo Stiller, who is valued at €50 million.
The background to this interest is directly linked to another transfer file that has previously made headlines. It is known that after Stuttgart triggered their own purchase clause (€36.5 million) for the player back in April, he has since been valued at around €50 million. That clause expired on July 15, complicating Manchester United's plans for Stiller; United subsequently turned to Roma's Manu Kone as an alternative.
Chelsea entering this file now shows that competition for the player is not limited to a single English club. Juventus have also previously been reported to be interested in the 24-year-old, who is under contract with Stuttgart until 2028 and delivered a consistent performance in the Bundesliga last season.
This development is read as a sign that Chelsea's search to strengthen their midfield in the summer window continues; the club appears to be evaluating multiple names for the position in parallel.
