Liverpool's new target: young Brazilian Rayan

Liverpool's search for attacking reinforcements after Mohamed Salah has expanded to include a fresh, young name. According to TeamTalk's Graeme Bailey, the club have made enquiries over Bournemouth's 19-year-old Brazilian winger Rayan; the player has reportedly been "extensively discussed" with new head coach and former Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola.

Iraola's opinion carries significant weight in this file. The Spanish coach, who worked with Rayan during the second half of last season, is said to remain a huge admirer of the Brazilian talent and believes "his ceiling is exceptionally high."

The background to this search is also significant. With Salah's departure leaving a major void on the right side of the attack, Liverpool have also shown strong interest in PSG's Bradley Barcola; however, David Ornstein's suggestion that PSG could demand over £115 million for the Frenchman has pushed the club to look at alternative names.

Rayan's profile also explains this interest. Signed from Vasco da Gama for around £24.7 million in January 2026, the young winger contributed 5 goals and 2 assists in 15 appearances for Bournemouth and earned a place in Brazil's World Cup squad this summer. His contract is reported to include a £130 million release clause, though the clause won't become active until next year, allowing Liverpool to monitor the situation without any immediate decision pressure for now.

The competition also enriches this file. Liverpool are not alone: Barcelona, Bayern Munich and PSG are also reported to be closely monitoring Rayan's progress, a sign that Bournemouth will face a battle to hold on to their prized asset.
