Victor Osimhen Decided to Stay at Galatasaray

One of the most talked-about topics of the summer transfer window has ended. According to Sebastien Denis, Victor Osimhen has decided to stay at Galatasaray. The Nigerian star's fate had been a subject of speculation for weeks and more than one Premier League giant had knocked on the door. However, the process concluded in the direction the yellow-and-red fans hoped for and Osimhen's name will continue to remain in the squad.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham had shown serious interest in Victor Osimhen for a significant part of the summer transfer window. The plans the Premier League giants prepared to add the Nigerian star to their squads had found wide place in the football press. However, the figures put on the table fell short of the player's career expectations and his current position at Galatasaray. This table stood out as the first concrete obstacle to the transfer taking place.

Osimhen's high salary was a point that directly pushed the budget limits of the English clubs. The Nigerian star's financial expectations at this period of his career also being kept at the same level was one of the main factors making it difficult for the transfer to conclude. On the other hand, the player's commitment to Istanbul and the Galatasaray fans stood out as another factor reducing the attractiveness of the departure scenario. Osimhen being satisfied with his life in the city also directly affected the transfer process turning in his favour.

Another determining factor was the Nigerian star not wanting to leave Galatasaray without experiencing 5 consecutive championships. Such a target revealed how strong the player's commitment to the yellow-and-red community is. Osimhen clearly showed with this preference that he wants to be part of Galatasaray's historic success in Turkish football.

Rafael Leao reaching an agreement with Galatasaray was the development that practically finalised the decision. The Portuguese star joining the yellow-and-red side was interpreted as both a strong attacking partnership on the pitch for Osimhen and a concrete expression of trust in the project. After this development, Osimhen's possibility of departure practically disappeared. Although Rafael Leao's transfer has not yet gained official status, a basic agreement was reached with the player and his club.

Okan Buruk's role was also extremely determining in Osimhen's decision. The experienced head coach's relationship with the player and the project he presented to him were among the important factors shaping the Nigerian star's preference to stay at Galatasaray. Yellow-and-red fans welcomed both Osimhen staying and how much the squad will strengthen with Rafael Leao's joining with great excitement.
